Pooja Daily is a mobile app for daily virtual pooja and learning about Hindu, Sikh, Jain, and Buddhist traditions. This page explains what information the app handles, where it is stored, and the choices you have. We've tried to keep it short and plain.

The short version: The app runs entirely on your phone. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server that stores your personal data. We collect anonymous app-usage analytics through Google Firebase to understand which features matter; you can turn this off in Settings.

1. Who we are

"Pooja Daily" refers to the Pooja Daily mobile application and the team that publishes it (the "App", "we", "us"). For privacy questions, contact admin@poojadaily.com.

2. What data the app handles

2.1 App preferences and progress (on-device only)

During onboarding, you choose a name, language, tradition, and which fasts (vrats) you observe. These, along with your pooja history and notification settings, are stored on your device using the operating system's standard application storage. None of this leaves your phone. There is no account to sign in to and no server to sync against — uninstalling the app removes all of it.

2.2 Location (only if you grant permission)

The app can request your device location to compute accurate sunrise, sunset, and panchang times. Location is used on-device only by the local panchang engine — it is never transmitted anywhere. If you decline, the app falls back to a default city.

2.3 Usage analytics

We use Google Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated information about how the app is used (for example: which screens are opened, when a pooja is completed, which audio tracks are played). This helps us decide what to build next. None of these events include your name, profile picture, GPS location, or anything else you entered during onboarding.

In addition to the events we explicitly log, Firebase automatically collects technical device information for anonymous measurement: device model, operating system version, language, country, and approximate location derived from IP address. We have configured Firebase to not use any advertising identifiers (no IDFA on iOS, no Android Advertising ID), so your activity in this app cannot be linked to other apps or campaigns. The full list of what Firebase collects is described at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

You can disable analytics at any time in Me → Privacy → Analytics. Once disabled, the underlying SDK stops sending data — not just the events we explicitly log, but the auto-collected device info too. Already-collected anonymous events follow Firebase's standard retention policy (currently 14 months).

2.4 Notifications

The app schedules local reminders (festival day-before, vrat morning-of) directly on your device using the operating system's notification system. We do not send push notifications from a server, and there is no remote-notification token associated with you.

3. What we do not collect

4. Third-party providers

Anonymous analytics events (when enabled) are processed by Google through Firebase Analytics, governed by Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. No other third parties receive your data.

5. Children

Pooja Daily is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because data only lives on the device where the app is installed, removing the app removes it. If you have concerns, contact admin@poojadaily.com.

6. Your choices and rights

6.1 Delete your data

Because nothing is stored on a server, deleting your data is as simple as uninstalling the app — your preferences and pooja history live only on your device, and removing the app removes them.

6.2 Turn analytics off

Open Me → Privacy → Analytics and toggle off. No new events are sent after that.

6.3 EU / UK / India residents

If you are in the EU, UK, or India, you have the right to access, correct, delete, and restrict the processing of your personal data. Because we don't operate a server, exercising most of these rights is something you can do directly inside the app (uninstall, reset, disable analytics). For anything else, email admin@poojadaily.com.

6.4 California (CCPA)

We do not sell personal information. California residents may request information about what data we hold by contacting us at admin@poojadaily.com.

7. Data retention

App preferences and progress live on your device until you uninstall or reset the app. Firebase Analytics retains anonymous, aggregated event data per Google's standard retention schedule (currently 14 months, configurable in our Firebase console).

8. Security

Preferences are stored using the operating system's standard application storage. Because no personal data leaves your device for our servers, the security perimeter is your device's own.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, surface a notice in the app on next launch.
